  5. An overview, as well as all the documentation for Fund
  6. Manager is available via on-line help from inside the
  7. application.

  9. To get a quick feel for the capabilities of Fund Manager,
  10. simply double click on any of the sample icons created
  11. by the installation program.

  18. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  21. Select the RUN command from the FILE menu of the Program
  22. Manager.  Run the program "install.exe". 
  23.

  27. UPGRADE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

  30. Select the RUN command from the FILE menu of the Program
  31. Manager.  Run the program "install.exe".

  35. If you already have a previous version of Fund Manager
  36. on your computer you can install this newer version
  37. directly over your old version.  During installation
  38. specify the directory where your current version is
  39. located (eg. c:\finance).  You can continue to use your
  40. existing data files.  Your old version of Fund Manager
  41. will be overwritten.  New samples will be installed in
  42. the samples sub-directory.

  44. If you want to try this new version before deciding to
  45. upgrade install this version to a different directory
  46. (eg. c:\finance2).  You can still continue to use your 
  47. existing data files.

  74. or 2 days.  To keep costs and registration fees down, long

  79. WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU REGISTER

  82. You will be sent a registration letter, which includes a
  83. name, serial number, and password combination to be 
  84. entered into Fund Manager.  This information will enable
  85. the registered version of Fund Manager.  If you have provided
  86. an electronic mail address the letter will be sent to the
  87. specified address.  Otherwise, a letter will be sent through
  88. the US mail.

  90. All registered users are entitled to 3 years of free
  91. technical support from the author.  Mark Beiley may be
  92. reached by either US mail, telephone, or electronic mail at
  93. the addresses and number listed above.

  95. Three free sets of historical prices (excuding S/H).  See
  96. the Price Order Form in the online help.

  98. The option to purchase a "printable" copy of the manual.
  99. The manual is identical to the on-line help, but you may
  100. order the manual in either a Microsoft Word or plain ascii
  101. text file format.  This will allow you to print out the 
  102. entire manual for easier reading.  The manual may either be
  103. mailed on diskette through the mail, or sent electronically.
  104. The cost to receive the manual on diskette is $2.50 ($5
  105. outside continental US).  The cost to receive the manual 
  106. electronically is $1.50, but is only available if you have
  107. provided either an America Online or CompuServe user ID on
  108. your registration form.  Please add the approprate amount
  109. to your registration payment and a note stating you would
  110. like to order the manual.  Also, please specify the data
  111. format for the manual that you would prefer: Microsoft
  112. Word 2.0 for Windows or a plain text file.

  142. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
  143. ***********************************************************

  145. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software
  146. before buying it. If you try a Shareware program and
  147. continue using it, you are expected to register. Individual
  148. programs differ on details -- some request registration
  149. while others require it, some specify a maximum trial
  150. period. With registration, you get anything from the simple
  151. right to continue using the software to an updated program
  152. with printed manual.

  155. software, and the copyright holder retains all rights, with
  156. a few specific exceptions as stated below. Shareware
  157. authors are accomplished programmers, just like commercial
  158. authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In

  160. difference is in the method of distribution. The author
  161. specifically grants the right to copy and distribute the
  162. software, either to all and sundry or to a specific group.

  164. a commercial disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  190. Fund Manager is a "shareware program" and is provided at no
  191. charge to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share it
  192. with your friends, but please do not give it away altered

  194. supported" software is to provide personal computer users
  195. with quality software without high prices, and yet to
  196. provide incentive for programmers to continue to develop
  197. new products.  If you find this program useful and find
  198. that you are using Fund Manager and continue to use Fund
  199. Manager after a reasonable trial period, you must make a

  202. one computer at any one time.  You must treat this software

  204. used by any number of people and may be freely moved from
